Finding the right fit should be simple.

Because Edge of Life Designs carries many different garment styles, manufacturers, fabrics, and fits, there is no single universal Edge of Life size chart.

The most accurate sizing information will always be the size guide provided on the individual product page.

Use this page as a general guide for measuring yourself and choosing the best size.

Start With the Product Size Guide

Before ordering clothing, always check the size chart shown on that specific product page.

Sizing may vary between:

T-shirts
Long sleeve shirts
Hoodies
Jackets
Button-up shirts
Tank tops
Dresses
Leggings
Bottoms
Unisex garments
Women's fitted garments

A Medium in one product style may not fit exactly like a Medium in another.

When in doubt, trust the measurements—not the size letter.

How to Measure

For the best results, use a flexible measuring tape and measure over lightweight clothing or directly against the body.

Keep the measuring tape comfortably snug without pulling it tight.

Chest / Bust

Measure around the fullest part of your chest or bust.

Keep the tape level across your back and underneath your arms.

For fitted garments such as bodycon dresses, this measurement is especially important.

Waist

Measure around your natural waistline.

This is generally the narrowest part of your torso, slightly above your belly button.

Do not pull the measuring tape too tightly.

Hips

Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.

This measurement is particularly important for:

Dresses
Leggings
Skirts
Fitted bottoms

Inseam

Measure from the inside of your upper thigh down to the desired hem or ankle.

This measurement is useful for leggings, pants, joggers, and other full-length bottoms.

Sleeve Length

Measure from the shoulder down the outside of your arm to your wrist.

Depending on the garment, some manufacturers may measure sleeve length from the center back of the neck instead.

Always check the diagram or instructions included with the individual product size chart.

Garment Length

Garment length is generally measured from the highest point of the shoulder down to the bottom hem.

For dresses, jackets, and oversized garments, length can significantly affect the overall fit and appearance.

Measuring a Garment You Already Own

One of the easiest ways to choose a size is to compare the product measurements with a garment you already own and like.

Lay your garment flat on a smooth surface without stretching it.

You can then compare measurements such as:

Width
Measure straight across the garment from side to side.

Length
Measure from the highest shoulder point to the bottom hem.

Sleeve
Measure according to the measurement method shown in the product's size guide.

This method is often more reliable than choosing a size based only on what you normally wear.

Understanding Fit

Edge of Life Designs carries several different fit styles.

Regular Fit

Designed to provide a standard everyday fit without being excessively tight or oversized.

Relaxed Fit

Provides additional room through the body for a looser, more casual appearance.

Oversized Fit

Intentionally designed to fit larger and looser than a traditional garment.

Do not automatically size down unless you specifically want a closer fit.

Fitted / Bodycon

Designed to fit closely to the body.

Stretch fabrics may provide flexibility, but checking your bust, waist, and hip measurements is strongly recommended.

Unisex

Unisex garments generally use a more traditional straight-cut silhouette.

Customers who normally wear women's fitted clothing may find unisex garments roomier than expected.

Always check the product measurements before ordering.

Dresses

Dress sizing can vary considerably depending on fabric, stretch, and silhouette.

For fitted dresses, compare:

Bust
Waist
Hips

For looser or flared dresses, bust and waist measurements may be more important than hip measurements.

Stretch fabrics can provide additional flexibility, but this should not replace checking the size chart.

Different Edge of Life dress styles—including bodycon, skater, midi, and other silhouettes—may have completely different measurements.

Always use the size guide for the exact dress you are ordering.

Leggings & Stretch Bottoms

For leggings and other fitted bottoms, pay particular attention to:

Waist
Hips
Inseam when provided

Stretch fabrics are designed to contour to the body, but sizing too small may affect comfort, opacity, and the appearance of printed artwork.

If you are between sizes, review the product-specific measurements and fit description carefully.

Hoodies, Sweatshirts & Jackets

Outerwear may be worn differently depending on personal preference.

Consider whether you plan to:

Wear the item directly over a shirt
Layer clothing underneath
Prefer a fitted silhouette
Prefer an oversized appearance

If you plan to layer underneath your hoodie or jacket, additional room may be desirable.

Button-Up Shirts

Button-up shirts should be selected with both chest measurement and preferred styling in mind.

If you prefer a loose resort-style fit, consider the amount of room shown in the garment measurements.

If you prefer a closer fit, compare the measurements carefully with a button-up shirt you already own.

Hats & Beanies

Headwear sizing varies depending on the product.

Some hats use:

Adjustable straps
Snapback closures
Stretch construction
Fixed sizing

Beanies may also differ in stretch, cuff style, and overall fit.

Check the individual product description for specific sizing information.

Bags & Accessories

Most bags, backpacks, patches, and similar accessories do not use traditional clothing sizes.

Dimensions are provided on the individual product page whenever applicable.

Please check product measurements before purchasing if you need an item to fit a particular device, object, or space.

Depending on the product, measurements may be displayed in:

If both options are available, use whichever measurement system is easiest for you.

For the most accurate comparison, measure yourself or your existing garment using the same unit displayed in the product chart.

Between Two Sizes?

If your measurements fall between two sizes, consider:

The intended fit of the garment
Whether the fabric stretches
Whether you prefer fitted or relaxed clothing
Whether you plan to layer clothing underneath
Which body measurement is most important for that garment

For a fitted garment, sizing up may provide additional comfort.

For an oversized garment, your normal size may already provide significant room.

There is no universal answer, so use the measurements and product fit description together.

Printed Garments

Many Edge of Life Designs products feature printed artwork.

On stretch garments, the appearance of a design may change slightly when the fabric stretches over the body.

Selecting the appropriate size helps preserve both comfort and the intended appearance of the artwork.

Minor differences in artwork placement may also occur depending on garment size and manufacturing.

Take your measurements.
Compare them directly with the chart.
Check the product's fit description.
Compare the measurements with a garment you already own when possible.

Please do not rely exclusively on the size you normally purchase from another brand.
